As a Medical Physicist Assistant (MPA), you’ll work directly with imaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance—while gaining exposure to the physics side of diagnostic imaging.

What You’ll Do Perform quality control (QC) testing on X-ray, fluoroscopy, and surgical imaging systems
Evaluate image quality, system performance, and radiation output
Assist physicists with annual inspections, acceptance testing, and equipment evaluations
Conduct radiation surveys and support shielding assessments
Troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and collaborate with service engineers
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
Travel to different clinical sites and work with a variety of imaging systems
Help improve imaging protocols and quality assurance processes
Equipment You’ll Work With General radiographic systems (table, chest units, detectors)
Fluoroscopy and interventional suites
Mobile C-arms and surgical imaging systems
Digital and CR imaging systems
What We’re Looking For Strong background as an X-ray and/or fluoroscopy technologist
2+ years of clinical imaging experience
Solid understanding of imaging equipment, image quality, and radiation safety
Interest in the technical and physics side of imaging
Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple sites
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Preferred (But Not Required) Experience with equipment QA/QC or accreditation processes
Familiarity with radiation measurement tools or physics concepts
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or interest in pursuing one)
BLS certification
