Job Title: IT Desktop Support (Python, PowerShell exp required)Location: Onsite Fuquay Varina NCContract: 12 monthsPR - $24/hrShift: Must be flexible to work both 1st and 3rd shifts1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM3rd Shift: 6:00 PM – 5:00 AMAssignment will begin on 1st shift; however, candidates must be available to transition to 3rd shift during peak business periods.Employment Eligibility:Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future for this position.Position SummaryWe are seeking an onsite Tier 2 Deskside Support Technician to provide hands-on IT support in a manufacturing/operations environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for computer deployments, Windows upgrades, imaging, asset management, hardware support, and troubleshooting desktop-related issues. This role requires strong technical skills, physical mobility, and the ability to work independently while following established IT processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDeploy and replace desktop and laptop computers.Upgrade systems from Windows 10 to Windows 11.Image and configure computers for end users.Remove and properly dispose of retired IT assets.Provide Tier 2 deskside support for hardware and software issues.Support printers, including lifting, moving, and troubleshooting.Update and maintain asset records in ServiceNow.Follow Knowledge Base (KB) articles and documented procedures for issue resolution.Create, maintain, and distribute basic technical documentation and records.Escalate issues that fall outside established procedures.Maintain equipment, supplies, and operational data supporting IT processes.Communicate effectively with internal teams and end users.Required QualificationsKnowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.Understanding of computer security concepts and policies.Experience with Microsoft Office applications and standard desktop software.Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.Ability to drive locally as needed.Physical ability to stand/walk for extended periods.Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.Must wear metatarsal safety boots on the first day of work.Preferred QualificationsExperience with:Windows 10/11 deployments and upgradesComputer imaging and asset managementServiceNow ticketing systemsPowerShell scriptingPython scriptingPrinter support and hardware troubleshooting1+ year of IT support experience preferred.Recent IT graduates with strong technical aptitude will also be considered.EducationAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline, OREquivalent combination of education and relevant experience.High School Diploma/GED required.Must-Have SkillsWindows 10/11 deployment and supportComputer imaging and hardware refresh projectsPowerShell and/or Python scripting exposureNetworking fundamentalsAsset management and documentationPhysical ability to lift 50 lbs and work on feet throughout the shiftStrong communication and customer support skills
