As Controller you'll run the accounting function, close the books, and stand behind every number that leadership, our CPA firm, and our partners rely on. It's a build-and-own role for a hands-on financial leader who wants their fingerprints on the systems, the controls, and the standard, not just the month-end.This position is in onsite in the Austin, TX area. We are open to relocation for the right candidate. What you'll ownThe full accounting close: monthly, quarterly, and annual, accurate and on timeFinancial reporting and GAAP compliance across the businessCost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing/site cost integrityInternal controls, cash management, and audit readinessSales tax and the full slate of state and federal filingsBudgeting, forecasting, and the financial analysis leadership plans againstVendor, insurance, and compliance relationshipsThe partnership with our independent CPA firm, keeping records accurate, honest, and defensibleBuilding and mentoring the accounting team as we scaleWhat it takes8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a leadership or controller-track roleDeep command of GAAP and hands-on close ownershipManufacturing / cost accounting background strongly preferred, including cost-of-goods and inventoryStrong Excel skills and fluency in QuickBooks Online and related accounting systemsExperience with sales tax, multi-jurisdiction filings, insurance, and complianceCPA a plus; unimpeachable integrity and ownership are non-negotiableWhy it's worth itThis is the financial nerve center of the company with a direct line to ownership. We hold a high bar and reward the people who own their function like it's their own.Compensation range - $125,000 - $175,000Pre-employment screeningOffers of employment are conditional and contingent on satisfactory completion of pre-employment screening, which may include job-related skills and other assessments, a background check, and verification of your employment history and references. Because this position has access to financial systems, records, and assets, screening for this role also includes a credit check (a soft inquiry that does not affect your credit score).
