You'll lead cross-functional teams across multiple software products, coordinating stakeholders, vendors, engineers, and operational users to deliver mission-critical capabilities for national security customers.Join a programme operating at the intersection of software development, SATCOM operations, systems engineering, and Agile delivery. You'll drive product strategy, manage vendor relationships, oversee programme execution, and ensure critical capabilities are delivered in alignment with evolving mission requirements.This position would suit a technically minded programme leader who enjoys working across engineering, product, and mission teams while maintaining ownership of delivery, stakeholder alignment, and operational success.Key Responsibilities• Lead product discovery and capability definition efforts for SATCOM management and monitoring systems• Work directly with stakeholders and end users to identify operational gaps and define requirements• Oversee multiple concurrent software development efforts across prime and subcontractor teams• Manage programme schedules, milestones, risks, and vendor performance• Coordinate across software, systems engineering, cybersecurity, and platform teams to ensure successful integration• Support Agile planning activities including backlog alignment, sprint reviews, and product increment delivery• Facilitate architecture reviews and technical alignment activities across development teams• Act as a primary interface for DoD stakeholders, communicating programme progress and mission impact• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for innovation and capability expansionEssential Skills and Experience• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline• 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Product Management, or Systems Engineering within a DoD environment• Proven experience managing software development programmes across multiple contractors or vendor teams• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies including Scrum, SAFe, or similar frameworks• Familiarity with the DoD Software Acquisition Pathway• Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills• Experience driving collaboration between engineering teams, operational users, and programme leadership• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security ClearanceDesirable Skills• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline• Familiarity with MILSATCOM, COMSATCOM, RF systems, and spectrum management• Experience with SATCOM monitoring platforms, operational dashboards, or mission management systems• Understanding of DevSecOps environments and cybersecurity integration• Experience with data analytics, KPIs, and software testing within communications systems• PMP, INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, or similar programme management certifications• Active Secret or higher security clearance• Experience supporting Space Force, DoD space, or national security programmesIf you're interested in leading mission-critical software programmes supporting the future of military satellite communications, apply now or send your resume to jake.payne@newspacetechnical.com
