Direct Support Professional

Starting Pay: $21.00 - $22.50 per hour plus an additional $2.75 an hour when in a 1:3 client setting. Our office is located in West Linn but our employees work in the community throughout the Portland Metro Area. Position Summary: The Direct Support Professional role involves planning events and fun activities for clients and taking them out into the community to meet with others. Teaching skills of independent living such as budgeting, cooking, shopping and cleaning. Trellis is not a facility and 100% of activities happen in the community or a client’s home. This provides a day filled with a variety of events and going to different locations while providing transportation for clients. Staff work with 5-10 clients a week and can work in settings of 1:1 or 1:3. Higher pay rates are provided when working in groups. To best serve our clients and for our staff to enjoy this position, we are looking for candidates that are energetic, happy, creative, resourceful, good at multitasking, and organized. Day to Day Duties: Driving: Must have a valid license and working car with auto insurance to drive approximately 20-40 miles per day (reimbursed at 56 cents a mile) Documenting: Must be able to write daily notes with correct grammar and spelling on a weekly basis using a phone or computer on Wi-Fi Consistency: Each DSP has a set schedule and must be able to maintain it each week with clients Reliability: Must be reliable and able to work independently (Trellis is not a facility) Creativity: Take clients out into the community to different places, activities, and events they are interested in and would like to participate in Flexibility: Ability to adjust to different types of personalities and disabilities from day to day Positivity: Have a positive attitude and encourage others around you Teamwork: At Trellis our DSPs work together to create a cohesive environment for clients to learn, grow, and thrive (All while having a great time!)
