Cloud Operations Engineer
Interloc Solutions is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cloud Operations Engineer to support the networking, connectivity, and operational management of enterprise cloud-hosted environments. This role focuses on creating and administrating secure, highly available, and resilient cloud infrastructure supporting IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS), Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), and other mission-critical enterprise applications.
As part of our Cloud Operations team, you will be responsible for cloud networking, platform operations, incident response, infrastructure monitoring, operational automation, and continuous service improvement across enterprise managed hosting environments. The ideal candidate has strong experience with cloud infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes/OpenShift operations, and enjoys troubleshooting complex multi-tier application environments while working directly with enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Networking & Connectivity Operations
Support cloud and hybrid network connectivity for enterprise hosted environments
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues involving routing, DNS, VPNs, gateways, load balancers, and SSL/TLS
Support OpenShift ingress, egress, routes, reverse proxies, and application connectivity
Assist with firewall rule coordination, network access requests, and connectivity validation
Support network segmentation and secure communication between application, database, and infrastructure layers
Coordinate with client infrastructure, networking, and cloud teams during incidents and planned changes
Assist with cloud networking configuration and operational support across AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and hybrid environments
Participate in infrastructure incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvement initiatives
Cloud Platform & OpenShift Operations
Support and maintain IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) environments
Monitor and administer Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters
Support containerized application deployments, scaling, and overall platform health
Troubleshoot pods, nodes, persistent storage, container networking, ingress controllers, and cluster services
Perform OpenShift upgrades, patching, certificate management, and platform maintenance
Monitor platform performance and assist with capacity planning and optimization
Support integrations between MAS, middleware, databases, identity providers, and infrastructure components
Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and operational recovery activities
Monitoring, Automation & Operational Excellence
Monitor enterprise infrastructure using observability and monitoring platforms
Respond to alerts and proactively identify opportunities to improve platform reliability and performance
Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools
Contribute to operational documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge articles
Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with CloudOps, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
Experience supporting cloud networking services in AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or hybrid environments
Experience supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure and networking
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and SSL/TLS
Experience troubleshooting ingress controllers, reverse proxies, routes, and container networking
Experience supporting enterprise monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, or SolarWinds
Experience working in Cloud Operations, Managed Services (MSP), or enterprise hosting environments
Experience supporting Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and customer communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
Experience supporting IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS)
Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2
Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
ITIL, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Red Hat OpenShift, cloud platform, or security certifications
