Equipment Operator
Duties And ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy equipment: Locators, Excavators, Backhoe, Skid Steers, Wheel Loader Setting up equipment for daily use. Maintaining equipment and machinery so they can operate safely. Daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Maintaining the understanding of operating procedures for their machines. Report safety hazards within the work environment. Use heavy machinery to complete a task. Complete and turn in required personal paperwork. Abide by all company safety rules. Wear proper PPE while on the job site and in the yard:Safety-toed work boots, safety vest, work gloves, safety glasses and hard hatEducation, Experience, Skills And Abilities Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred. Proficiency in using tools and equipment. Time management and organizational skills. Knowledge of mathematics and basic calculations. Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and the public. Maintain an effective working relationship with others. Perform with minimum supervision. Perform heavy physical work, often under adverse weather conditions. Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot potential issues. Resourcefulness in learning new manuals and processes. Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to understand mechanics and technical tasks.Work Requirements Be Able to Obtain a CDL within the first 6 months Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA.
