The Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring safe conditions exist at the property for customers and Team Members, and that OSHA and other requirements are met. This position additionally manages the property wide insurance program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Investigates all property damage and customer/Team Member injuries through the collection of evidence, documentation, and information.

Processes and maintains all general liability and property claims.
With respect to potential claims, conducts initial guest contact and follow-up, including initial phone reporting and other necessary activities.
Monitors and expedites the third party administrator's activities for Workman's Comp and General liability claim activity.
Conducts loss analysis of all claims (guest or Team Member) to determine trends and appropriate action.
Ensures compliance with appropriate legislated safety requirements (OSHA) to include Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Emergency Operating Procedures.
Manages and coordinate the annual administration and renewal of the property wide insurance program.
Completes new and annual driving record checks for Team Members approved to use company vehicles.
Responsible for safety inspections of all areas of the property.
Develops the risk control budget.
Responsible for reporting to an Executive Safety Committee, which comprises of the Directors of Human Resources, Surveillance and Security.
Responsible for delivering the program as directed by the Executive Safety Committee to the departmental Safety Committee.
Creates a partnership between the Security and Surveillance Departments and serves as a communication liaison between all property departments regarding risk and safety.
Prepare action plans to decrease risk factors
Gather confidential financial information from client such as income, assets and debts
Perform risk evaluation, which assesses the way the company previously handled risks
Make risk-avoiding adjustments to current methods of operation in order to minimize their future risks
Provide training and certification for organization staff so that they can be aware of risks and try to avoid them
Maintains confidentiality of matters being investigated, past or present
Responsible for the follow-up of the upkeep and inspection of all safety equipment in all areas of the property
Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same
Provides all risk managing reports to the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribal Gaming Commission
Performs additional duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Risk and Safety Administration, Biology, Finance, Business, Statistics, Public Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An additional 5+ years of gaming experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
Two years of experience in Risk and Safety Administration, Finance, Statistics, Biology or related field
Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with a minimum of two years of recent and progressive supervisor or managerial experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and policies.
Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
Able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, and bright lights.
The ability to maintain an established work schedule that provides management oversight of team members and on-call assistance, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Effective use of organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through
Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and grip items when necessary.
Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino and be able lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds
Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk
Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including phones, personal computers, fax machines, and photo copiers
Must be able to work at a fast pace in stressful situations and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
