Job Description OverviewWe are hiring elite-level CNC Machinists to join our high-mix, low-volume aerospace and defense machine shop. For the right skills, we can make it work.CompensationMachinist $32 - 40 / hrSenior Machinist: $40 - $55 / hrNight Shift Differential: $3 /hrWeekend Shift Differential: $4 / hrShiftsDay Shift (4 x 10s) 6:00am - 4:30pmNight Shift: (4x 10s) 4:30pm - 3:00amWeekend Shift: (3 x 12s, paid for 40), Friday - Sunday, 6:00am - 6:30pmConsistent Overtime10+ hours / week for those who want itRarely required for those who don'tRelocationGenerous package available as neededResponsibilitiesComplete Autonomy: Setup, run, inspect, and document results across our floor, heavily utilizing advanced 5-axis machines and mill-turn centers.Manual Fundamentals: You don't just rely on the machine; you understand exactly what the cutter is doing. You leverage deep manual machining fundamentals to troubleshoot chatter, read chip formation, optimize tool pressure, and tackle the most complex setups.Strategy & Execution: Select tooling, establish offsets, build bulletproof workholding strategies, and optimize processes.Quality Control: Hold tight tolerances from the first piece through the final run using manual micrometers, indicators, and precision gauges.Programming Mastery: Read, understand, and efficiently edit G-code and M-code on the floor to restore quality and maximize throughput.Problem Solving: Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, and machine variables on the fly to achieve first-article success on both proven and unproven partsAdvanced Quality (preferred): The ability to program/operate CMMs and independently conduct formal First Article Inspections (FAI) is highly preferred).Advanced Programmer (preferred): Experience fully programming from scratch in Mastercam is a plus but not requiredRequirementsQualificationsExperience: 7+ years in precision, tight-tolerance machining (more is always welcome).Aerospace: Strong tenure in Aerospace manufacturing and machining environmentsQuality Standards: Experience in ISO 9001 or AS9100 shopsPrecision: Proven ability to hold .0005" (5 tenths / ~13 microns) or tighter on critical features, and the manual skills to verify it.Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of complex blueprints and advanced GD&T (true position, parallelism, profile, concentricity, flatness, coaxiality).Equipment Mastery: Extensive experience setting up multi-axis equipment (5-axis mills, mill-turns, and/or multi-axis lathes).High-Setup Environment: Comfortable in shops where setup time is 30%+ of the job, frequently handling complex setups with 10+ tools.If you are slightly out of the pay range but believe your skills justify it, apply anyway.
