Job Description Job Opportunity: Physician - Hematology/OncologyWe are excited to announce a staff position for a Hematology/Oncology Physician at our organization, located at 315 South Manning Blvd, Albany, NY 12208. Our operational hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with weekends off.This role is affiliated with a leading cancer center, ensuring a collaborative environment for our medical professionals. The physicians in our hematology/oncology program typically see between 15 to 18 patients daily, with the option to increase this volume if desired. Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) manage around 10 to 12 patients each day. Notably, physicians do not have patient responsibilities while rounding at the hospital.Key Responsibilities:Manage an average daily hospital census of 20 to 30 patients.Participate in a balanced office schedule and call patient loads.Administer antineoplastic agents alongside nurses and APPs.Conduct intrathecal, intralesion, and intracavity procedures.Collaborate with Interventional Radiology for bone marrow and FNA biopsies.Oversee VAD catheter management by nursing staff.Engage in clinical trials in partnership with the cancer center.Work within an oncology service line that consists of approximately 80% oncology and 20% benign hematology.Provide care to patients ranging from geriatric to young adult, excluding pediatrics.Utilize a 1:1 MD to APP model for enhanced patient care.Requirements:Board Certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology and Hematology, or in the process of obtaining certification.A commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.A passion for delivering exceptional care and achieving positive patient outcomes.Working Conditions:Weekend call responsibility is every five weeks from Friday to Sunday.Utilization of the EPIC electronic medical record system.Participation in tumor boards for GU, GI, Breast, Thoracic, and General oncology.Access to virtual tumor boards from a renowned cancer center.Benefits and Compensation:A comprehensive salary package that includes a starting range of total compensation, excluding productivity bonuses and performance incentives.Eligibility for a quality bonus and CME allowance.Signing bonus and relocation reimbursement available.A stable 5-year contract with a guaranteed base salary.Supportive work environment with dedicated nursing staff and pharmacists available for assistance.This is a remarkable opportunity to join a well-established practice with a strong patient demand.
