Perspectives seeks a dynamic and inspiring educator with relevant IT sector experience to design curriculum, teach cybersecurity, and Cisco networking while leading students to earn certifications for today's dynamic tech sector, all through the lens of A Disciplined Life, Perspectives' socioemotional learning curriculum. The ideal candidate relishes the opportunity to shape a new program in her vision and takes personal responsibility for outstanding and transformative student outcomes.Essential FunctionsProvide daily instruction to students that prepares them for success on industry certification examsDesign curriculum to support studentsEnsure proper maintenance of classroom computer lab (desktops, laptops, network, etc)Participate in relevant professional developmentMaintain partnership with external organizations that provide real-life industry exposure and experience to studentsQualificationsA Bachelor Degree or more in Computer Science or a Stem related field.Knowledge base to create engaging curriculumTeach how to write computer programs and program websites.Instruct students on how computers work, including the basic science and mathematics behind their operation and the hardware and the software built on those foundations.Advocate of building strong character valuesCurrently has or is seeking to be Cisco certifiedRead and stay abreast of current topics in computer science or related fields.Strong desire to inspire and challenge students.Tutor students on an individual basis and group basis.CompetenciesEmotional IntelligenceEthical Practice500 hours of IT experienceProblem solving and critical thinking skills.Exhibits a strong commitment to ethos of Perspectives Charter Schools by thriving to live by 26 principles of A Disciplined LifePhysical DemandsMajority of work will be performed in a general office/school environment.
