Job Description
About the Role:As an Electrical Designer, you will play a critical role in the conceptualization, development, and implementation of electrical systems for a variety of projects across multiple industries. Your expertise will ensure that electrical designs meet all technical specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while optimizing performance and cost-efficiency. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to translate project requirements into detailed electrical schematics and layouts. The role demands a strong focus on innovation and problem-solving to address complex design challenges and improve existing systems. Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact the successful delivery of high-quality electrical solutions that support the operational goals of our clients and organization.Minimum Qualifications:Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD tools.Strong understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical standards and regulations.Experience in creating detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of project management principles and experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.Previous experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure electrical design projects.Experience with PDC, MCC, or modular electrical buildingsExperience with industrial or oil & gas projectsFamiliarity with control panel design or PLC systemsExperience with additional design tools (Revit, EPLAN, or similar)Knowledge of NEC or industrial electrical codesResponsibilities:Develop detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard CAD software.Perform load calculations, circuit design, and component selection to ensure system reliability and compliance with codes.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, and architectural plans.Review and revise designs based on feedback from clients, engineers, and regulatory bodies to ensure accuracy and feasibility.Support project management by providing technical input, cost estimates, and timelines related to electrical design tasks.Develop electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for custom projectsDesign layouts for integrated electrical buildings , including PDC and MCC systemsSupport design of switchracks, control panels, and power distribution systemsAssist with equipment selection and component specification (switchgear, MCCs, cables, etc.)Collaborate with internal engineering, project management, and fabrication teamsEnsure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirementsMaintain accurate project documentation and drawing packagesSupport fabrication and field teams by addressing design questions and updatesParticipate in design reviews and continuous improvement effortsSkills:The required skills enable the Electrical Designer to create precise and compliant electrical plans that form the foundation of safe and efficient electrical systems. Proficiency in CAD software is essential for producing detailed schematics and layouts that communicate design intent clearly to engineers and installers. Knowledge of electrical codes and standards ensures that all designs meet legal and safety requirements, reducing risk and liability. Strong collaboration and communication skills are vital for coordinating with diverse teams and adapting designs based on feedback, ensuring project success from concept through implementation.
