Software Engineer IV - Flight & Avionics Systems

Data Intelligence, LLC (DI) is seeking a Software Engineer IV to support development of flight software and embedded mission systems for a next-generation military tilt rotor aircraft program. This role is focused on hands-on software development, verification, and domain-specific implementation within avionics and mission-critical environments.This position is contingent upon winning award.The salary range for this position is between $150,000-165,000 annually, depending on experience.Responsibilities:Develop, integrate, and maintain embedded and flight softwareImplement software using C/C++ and Python in real-time environmentsPerform software verification and validation in accordance with DO-178Support hardware/software integration activitiesDevelop and execute software-level and integration test casesAuthor and maintain technical documentation, including software design descriptions and verification artifactsEducational Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related fieldRequired Qualifications:11+ years of professional experience in embedded or flight software developmentProficiency with C/C++ and PythonExperience working in regulated or compliance-driven environmentsCandidates must demonstrate strong depth in at least one domain and working experience or exposure to others:Embedded Flight SoftwareHands-on development of embedded or real-time softwareExperience with safety-critical or mission-critical applicationsAvionics Software SystemsSoftware supporting avionics functions, mission computing, or aircraft subsystemsUnderstanding of aviation software lifecycle constraintsSoftware Verification (DO-178)Experience developing verification artifacts, test cases, and compliance evidenceFamiliarity with certification-driven development environmentsReal-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)Experience developing or integrating software within RTOS environmentsUnderstanding of timing, determinism, and performance constraintsIntegration SupportParticipation in software-to-hardware or software-to-system integration effortsExperience troubleshooting integration issues in lab or system environmentsPreferred Domain Expertise:Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:AHMI DesignGlass CockpitTactical CommunicationsMilitary Aircraft NavigationEmbedded Mission SystemsTSN & BackboneMilitary Aircraft SystemsAircraft Survivability systemsWhy Join Data Intelligence, LLC:Join a mission-driven team where your cybersecurity expertise directly supports U.S. national security.
