Mainframe z/OS System ProgrammerJob Title: Mainframe z/OS System ProgrammerExperience: 12+ YearsTechnology: IBM z/OS, SMP/E, z/OSMF, ISV ProductsJob SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Mainframe z/OS System Programmer with strong expertise in z/OS system programming, SMP/E installations, operating system upgrades, ISV software implementation, system configuration, and enterprise mainframe support.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform standard system programming activities, including configuration, installation, and maintenance using SMP/E.Perform vendor software installations in the mainframe environment.Execute operating system upgrades and RSU maintenance using z/OSMF Workflow.Architect, install, and configure highly complex z/OS environments and third-party software.Support software standardization and new feature implementations.Support storage management, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, networking, and operating procedures from a z/OS perspective.Collaborate with Mainframe System Programmers across different tracks to enhance the mainframe environment.Assist team members with troubleshooting, innovative improvements, and technical decisions.Identify and implement system and process improvements in the z/OS environment.Work with application support teams and internal customers to facilitate business initiatives.Mandatory Skills12+ years of professional experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in z/OS and ISV environments.Expertise in SMP/E and non-SMP/E installation of ISV products.Expertise in IBM and Broadcom software product installation and upgrades.Strong knowledge of z/OS system commands, utilities, and automation tools.Experience with z/OS V2.5 upgrades or later using z/OSMF workflows.Strong IODF/HCD skills for adding new devices.Experience with Sysplex and configuration management is preferred.Strong knowledge of JCL and IBM utilities, including:IEBGENERIEBCOPYAMASPZAPDFDSSStrong knowledge of ISPF/TSO.Basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST.Experience designing project plans for upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning.Ability to communicate project timelines with delivery teams and customers.Ability to formulate technical roadmaps and identify prerequisites required for project completion.
