Job Title: Field Supervisor – Maintenance and Operations Hand GraderDuration: Full-time permanent positionLocation: Los Angeles, CA 90064Benefits:Vacation Time: 80 HoursSick Time: 40 HoursHolidays: 13 paid holidaysInsurance: 100% premium coverage (up to $500/month) for medical, vision, and dentalProfessional Development: Up to $1,000 annually for license renewals and education401(k): Employer match: 100% up to 4%, vested immediatelyParticipation in industry eventsJob SummaryThe ideal candidate for the Field Supervisor – Maintenance and Operations Hand Grader role is an experienced construction or facilities professional with strong knowledge of building systems and field assessments.They should be skilled at identifying hidden building components, evaluating overall condition and remaining service life, and accurately collecting data using technology such as tablets and laptops.The candidate should also work well with construction teams, campus staff, and trade surveyors, while bringing strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. ResponsibilitiesIdentifies and collects building component data on systems installed at District sites.Uses various computer formats to enter data (e.g., Tablets, laptops, Smartphones, etc.)Uses knowledge and experience in building construction to identify building systems that are hidden behind walls, ceilings and floors.Assesses the overall condition and remaining service life of building system components based on construction experience and knowledge. Applies direction and guidance on determining RSL Values specific to LAUSD from FCA Unit leadership.Works collaboratively with other trade surveyors to gather quantities, measurements, boilerplate information, etc., as needed and directed.Conducts/Supports ad hoc surveys related to District sites and buildings on an as needed basis.May supervise the performance of staff and survey participants as needed; serve as a resource to staff. Required Experience:6 or more years full time paid professional experience working with on-site construction management teams as well as with campus administrators, faculty and staff. Required Education:Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.Candidates without a bachelor's degree must have at least 10 years of experience. Four of the ten years of experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis
