Maintenance Planner

Overview In this role you will design and manage maintenance plans to keep critical equipment running, coordinating with plant management to balance productivity, safety, and resource availability. You’ll develop short- and long-term maintenance strategies, evaluate repairs versus replacements, and ensure key documentation and planning processes are in place. You will act as a trusted advisor on resources, schedules, and budget monitoring to drive reliability and efficiency. This position supports Calpine’s mission of reliable, low‑carbon power generation. ResponsibilitiesCreate and optimize maintenance plans and job plans to improve operation and maintenance performanceManage outage readiness checklists and planning windowsSchedule and allocate labor and resources, integrating plant needs with maintenance capabilitiesEvaluate maintenance requests and determine scope, requirements, and staffingDevelop budgetary information, material lists, and tracking metrics to improve maintenance performanceProvide strategic analysis on repairs vs replacements and manage lead times for equipmentEnsure complete documentation (MOC, Job Plans, Safety Work Plans) before work proceedsSupervise and coordinate professionals/technicians inside and outside the departmentCollaborate with operations on hazard isolation and critical component requirements Key requirementsBachelor’s Degree4-7 years of relevant experienceExpert in Maximo, Job Planning, labor management, and job estimatingStrong understanding of power maintenance/plant operations and administrative controlsAbility to work independently and exercise good judgmentCollaboration and teamworkProblem solving and analytical thinkingSafety-conscious decision makingMaximoJob Planninglabor management
