Guardianship and Elder Law Associate AttorneySuccessful Candidate:The ideal candidate will have experience handling all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, motion practice, and making court appearances, both remote and in person, across various venues.Candidates should have experience with Mental Hygiene Law Article 81 guardianship proceedings, including both contested and uncontested matters, as well as familiarity with Medicaid planning, eligibility, and public benefits advocacy. The role also provides opportunities to appear in Surrogate's Court and Supreme Court.This position requires someone who understands the importance of advocating for elderly individuals, individuals with developmental disabilities, and clients navigating long-term care planning and public benefits.Strong writing and communication skills are essential, along with sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with clients, court personnel, and adversaries. We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.This is a fully in-office position based in our Lake Success office, requiring a five-day in-office schedule.Qualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the New York State Bar4+ years of experience in guardianship, elder law, Medicaid planning, or a related field; candidates with 7+ years of relevant experience are strongly encouraged to applyProficiency in Microsoft OfficeStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentComfortable working with attorneys, staff, and leadership across departmentsCompensation & Benefits:Salary range:– $125,000 – $140,000 for candidates with approximately 4–6 years of experience– $140,000 – $160,000+ for candidates with 7+ years of relevant experience(commensurate with experience)Paid time offMedical, dental, vision benefits401(k)Life insurance
