Shelter StaffCity Mission - Living Stones, Inc. | Uniontown, PAPurposeShelter Staff are responsible for the daily operation of City Mission's shelter programs to help ensure a safe, clean, healthy, and respectful environment for shelter residents.Essential Job Duties:Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following duties:Conduct preliminary intake interviews with individuals arriving at the shelter during assigned shifts.Familiarize residents with shelter rules, expectations, and facility layout.Assist residents with food, clothing, blankets, towels, hygiene items, and other basic needs.Maintain general upkeep of the shelter through enforcement of house rules and completion of assigned cleaning duties.Perform designated chores both inside and outside of the shelter facility.Assist with and respond appropriately to emergency situations that may arise.Document daily client information in the shelter logbook and complete incident reports as needed.Report concerns, incidents, or problems to the Emergency Shelter Supervisor.Work assigned shifts as scheduled, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights if needed.Job Requirements:Education / ClearancesHigh School Diploma or GEDAct 33 ClearanceAct 34 ClearanceFBI Fingerprint ClearanceRequired ExperienceOne (1) year of experience working with individuals in residential or human service settings preferred.Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Preferred ExperienceExperience working with homeless or vulnerable populations preferred.Working ConditionsThis position may involve occasional exposure to:BloodBodily fluidsCrisis situationsCompensationRate of pay is based on education and experience.
