Temp Upward Bound Summer Residential Supervisor
TRIO Upward Bound is a federally funded, year-round college access program that prepares students for success in higher education through tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment opportunities.The Brandeis University TRIO Upward Bound Program is seeking a dedicated and experienced Residential Supervisor to lead and support a one-week summer residential program for low-income, first-generation, college-bound high school students from Waltham High School.This immersive, on-campus experience is part of a six-week summer program designed to provide students with academic enrichment, college readiness skills, and exposure to campus life. During the residential week, students will live in the dorms and participate in structured academic, social, and leadership programming.Position OverviewThe Residential Supervisor will live on campus and oversee Residential Mentors during the residential week. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth program operations, supporting staff coordination, and maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and support Residential Mentors throughout the programAssist with planning and coordinating the residential weekDevelop and distribute daily schedules to mentorsSupport mentor-student engagement and address interpersonal concernsEnsure consistent supervision of students during all activitiesCommunicate staff and student concerns to the Program DirectorSupport academic programming and workshopsAssist with evening programming, including social and leadership activitiesBuild positive relationships with students and staff while maintaining appropriate boundariesSupport program setup and daily operationsOther duties as assigned by the Program DirectorMinimum QualificationsUpper-level undergraduate student or recent graduateDemonstrated supervisory or leadership experienceExperience working with high school students or youth programsStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to supervise staff and students in a residential settingCommitment to supporting first-generation studentsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentGraduate student preferredExperience with TRIO programsProgram DatesResidential Week: June 28 - July 3TrainingStaff training will take place from June 22 - June 26Compensation$25 per hour plus room and meals during the residential week.Pay Range DisclosureThe University's pay ranges represent a good faith estimate of what Brandeis reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting.
