Press Operator
SHIFT: 2 openings, hours 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM
Job Overview:
You will play a vital role in our printing operations. You will be responsible for setting up and operating press equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. Your primary focus will be on ensuring proper machine setup, color management, and print quality to meet client specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Read job instructions and set up the press accordingly or direct setup based on instructions.
- Conduct make-ready/set-up of the press, including registration, ink viscosity, color mixing, and print quality.
- Establish optimal speed, registration, and print quality standards.
- Run, adjust, and troubleshoot production jobs on the press.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain production logs and reports accurately.
- Assist in training production personnel.
- Manage ink inventory under supervision.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area.
- Interact with customers and clients professionally when necessary.
- Perform prepress tasks like screen prep and imaging screens as required.
- Work overtime as needed.
Experience:
- Prior experience in manufacturing with a focus on press operations.
- Proficiency in color management, graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite, and prepress procedures.
- Ability to operate machinery such as CNC equipment and forklifts.
- Knowledge of typography, layout design, machining processes, and quality control standards.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Occasional climbing onto the press may be required.
- Frequent standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop during machine operation.
