This is not a job with ForceBrandsOur client, a growing consumer food brand producing and distributing its products in-house. As the business expands its product portfolio, manufacturing capabilities, and distribution, the team is looking to strengthen its financial infrastructure and gain greater visibility into cash flow, profitability, and operational performance.The RoleFractional Controller to provide hands-on financial leadership across accounting, FP&A, cash flow management, and reporting.This person will work closely with company leadership and an existing bookkeeper to improve financial processes, establish stronger reporting and controls, and build the financial foundation needed to support continued growth.ResponsibilitiesOversee the monthly close process and ensure accurate, timely financial reportingReconcile and maintain the balance sheet and help bring year-to-date financials fully up to dateImprove the organization and accuracy of the P&L, balance sheet, and supporting schedulesBuild and maintain weekly cash flow reporting and forecastingProvide FP&A support, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and performance analysisSupport accounts payable and overall cash managementPartner with and provide direction to the existing bookkeeper, delegating appropriate day-to-day accounting workEstablish scalable accounting processes, controls, and reporting structuresImprove visibility into manufacturing costs, raw materials, inventory, and product-level profitabilityHelp evaluate and optimize the financial relationship between Dino Bars and its manufacturing operationsWork across operational systems including Katana and ShipHero to ensure financial reporting reflects accurate costing, inventory, purchase order, and finished goods dataAdvise leadership on financial decisions related to growth, inventory investment, production capacity, and new product expansionServe as a collaborative financial thought partner while remaining willing to work directly in the details when neededQualificationsPrior Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or comparable finance experience within a CPG, food, beverage, or consumer products businessStrong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow management, and FP&AExperience working with inventory-based or manufacturing businesses strongly preferredExperience with raw materials, COGS, inventory accounting, and product costing highly valuedExperience supporting a self-manufactured brand or vertically integrated consumer business is a strong plusComfortable managing financial activity across closely connected operating/manufacturing entities or separate booksExperience working across accounting, MRP, ERP, and inventory management systems; familiarity with QuickBooks is a plusAble to both provide strategic financial guidance and personally work through detailed accounting and reporting needsComfortable working within a lean, entrepreneurial environment where processes are still being builtStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, open-minded approachWilling to iterate, challenge assumptions thoughtfully, and help leadership evaluate new ideas and growth opportunities
