In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust SQL databases and data warehouses that support our enterprise-wide data analytics and business intelligence initiatives. Your expertise will enable seamless data integration, efficient query management, and scalable data solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge big data systems, cloud platforms, and a variety of business intelligence tools to drive strategic insights and operational excellence. *Duties* * Design, develop, and optimize SQL databases, data models, and data warehouse architectures to support large-scale data analytics projects. * Build and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using tools like Informatica, Talend, or custom scripting in Python and Bash to ensure reliable data flow across systems. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data management strategies utilizing AWS, Azure Data Lake, and other public cloud platforms for scalable storage solutions. * Develop and enhance data integration processes involving linked data, Hadoop ecosystems (including Apache Hive and Spark), and big data systems for comprehensive analysis. * Manage query performance tuning, database security, backup/recovery procedures, and ensure high availability of SQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. * Support the development of business intelligence dashboards using Looker or similar tools by designing efficient data models aligned with dimensional modeling principles. * Contribute to agile development cycles by participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives related to database engineering. * Implement RESTful APIs for seamless data access and integration with external applications or services. * Assist in model training and analysis tasks by providing optimized database queries and structured datasets for machine learning workflows. *Requirements* * Proven experience designing and managing SQL databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or cloud-based databases such as Azure Data Lake or AWS RDS. * Strong proficiency in SQL scripting, query optimization, and database design principles including dimensional modeling for data warehousing. * Hands-on experience developing ETL pipelines using tools like Informatica or Talend; familiarity with ETL pipeline development in Python or Shell Scripting is a plus. * Deep understanding of big data ecosystems such as Hadoop (Apache Hive), Spark, and related technologies for large-scale data processing. * Knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure (Microsoft’s cloud platform), and public cloud deployment strategies. * Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Looker or equivalent platforms for creating dashboards and visualizations. * Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets to inform business decisions. * Experience working within an Agile environment with collaborative problem-solving skills. * Technical proficiency in Bash (Unix shell scripting), RESTful API development, Python programming for automation or model training tasks is desirable. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear insights for stakeholders.
