Mid-Level Piping Engineer - Remote

We are looking for a Piping Engineer for our Oak Ridge, TN location, you will have the chance to focus on projects.The necessary Job skills will include but are not limited to:Perform the following calculations:HydraulicEquipment SizingStress AnalysisPressure ReliefStandard Pipe SupportGenerate piping specifications in accordance with ANSI B31.3 and ANSI B31.9.Work with multidiscipline team to plan work and provide pressure piping system designs and associated equipment.Perform Constructability reviews on drawings packages and at site locations.Select pipe supports for metal and plastic piping from catalog supports and design engineered supports when required.Generate Piping Insulation and Painting Specifications.Perform piping safety reviews.Assist in the development of General Arrangement Drawings.RequirementsBachelor of Science (BS) or higher in Mechanical Engineering5 years' of engineering experience (Preferred)Less than 10% travelUSA citizenshipGeneral Computer skills: Excel, WORD, Microsoft Office toolsTechnical Computer experience with PIPE-FLO, Caesar II, AFT Arrow, AFT Fathom (preferred)Engineering Technical WritingIn addition to the requirements above the ideal candidate may have these preferred skills:Candidates local to Oak Ridge, TN is preferred, However, candidates with applicable experience and qualifications that are not local to Oak Ridge, TN are encouraged to apply taking into consideration intermittent travel to the office may be required but not mandatory.Essential Functions Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carry of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.At Amentum, we help prepare people for new opportunities and challenges.
