We're seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team of compassionate caregivers. Our 25-bed critical access hospital allows our compassionate caregivers to provide excellent patient care in an environment that supports them in their professional growth and development. Cibola General Hospital is one hour from Albuquerque and close to Santa Fe. Known for its mild year-round climate and outdoor activities, Grants NM offers low property taxes and inexpensive housing costs.Cibola General Hospital provides services in general surgery, 24-hour Emergency care, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pathology, Pediatric Dentistry, Podiatry, Primary Care and Radiology with X-ray, CT, MRI. We have three operating rooms including a room for scopes. Clinics, Lab services, Pharmacy, Cardiopulmonary, and Rehab.Job Summary:The duties of a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) mid-level provider include, but are not limited to, providing accurate mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients suffering from mental illnesses, disorders or substance abuse problems; proper maintenance of records, and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.Reports to: Practice Administrator/Chief of Staff or/Chief Executive OfficerPrimary Functions:Examine patients and record historyAdhere to proper charting protocolsDiscuss with Physician and other health care professionals to prepare comprehensive planOrder or execute tests as neededSubmit health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review by PhysicianAnalyze results of tests, diagnose and report to patientAdminister or prescribe treatment and medicationsRefer to specialist as required for patient's well-beingOther responsibilities as assignedEducation/Licensure Requirements:Masters Degree3+ years as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with experience in mental health assessment, diagnosis, triage, managing common psychiatric medication and treatment plans and managing crisis situations.Must have and maintain current State of New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license in good standingCurrent National Board Certification (PMHNP) (ANCC)Must have DEA in good standingBLS, ACLS, PALSExperienced with adult and/or child and adolescent populationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skillsShow initiative, creativity and problem-solving abilityAbility to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcarePrior experience using an electronic medical records system (Cerner)Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)Conditions of Employment:Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, reference checks and a post-offer drug screen.Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).Tuberculin screening required annuallyHospital required vaccinationsHospital required competenciesMust be able to meet the physical conditions of the positionHospital Core ValuesCompassion: We show empathy, respect and dignity in our interactions with patients and others.Accountability: We take responsibility for ones actions, decisions and behaviors to deliver safe care to our patients, along with our professional interactions with others.Respect: We recognize and value each individuals dignity, preferences and unique needs while appreciating ideas, culture, beliefs and experiences.Excellence: We provide evidence based care, programs, services, and an environment that achieves the best outcomes.BenefitsWe offer a competitive wage, health, dental, vision, critical illness and life insurance benefits, 403(b) retirement plan, $0 generic prescription drugs, tuition reimbursement, student loan forgiveness programs, gym discounts and Home Workout Program.
