Dawson ISD features outstanding facilities, including a brand new football field and track, updated fieldhouse and weight room, turf baseball and softball fields, and a gym built in 2019.Position Overview:The Athletic Director / Head Football Coach will provide leadership and oversight for the district's entire athletic program while serving as the head coach of the varsity football team. This individual will be responsible for building a strong athletic culture, developing student-athletes, and ensuring compliance with UIL and district expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesAthletic Director Duties:Provide overall leadership, coordination, and supervision of the district's athletic programs (7-12)Develop and implement a comprehensive athletic program aligned with district goalsSupervise and evaluate coaching staff and athletic personnelManage athletic budgets, scheduling, transportation, and facilitiesEnsure compliance with UIL rules, district policies, and state regulationsPromote sportsmanship, character development, and academic success among student-athletesCoordinate athletic events with other district departments and maintain positive community relationsOversee maintenance and use of athletic facilities and equipmentWork collaboratively with Girls Athletic Coordinator to ensure success all athletic programsHelp with shared Admin on Duty responsibilities at home athletic eventsHead Football Coach Duties:Lead and manage all aspects of the football program (7th-12th grade)Develop and implement offensive, defensive, and special teams strategiesOrganize and supervise practices, games, offseason programs, and strength/conditioningBuild a competitive and disciplined football program focused on student-athlete developmentMentor assistant coaches and student-athletesPromote academic accountability and positive behavior among athletes
