Estimating Engineer

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description Role and Responsibilities Theestimating engineer provides process/part modeling as well as material &labor usage calculation of metal finishing processes. The positionentails cradle to grave estimating support to the realization of newproducts within a technically oriented metal finishing facility. Theestimating engineer will be required to: Review, interpret and analyzequote requests, blueprints and material/finishing specifications. Followup with customers for supporting information if required. Calculatematerial and labor usage through part and process modeling. Consult withengineers, production managers & line supervisors/leads in variousdepartments to discuss process flow and tooling for the purpose offormulating estimates. Assess cost effectiveness of plating services ascompared to initial bid cost estimates as process is developed. Providefollow up correspondence with customers and sales encouragementregarding potential new applications and projects. Provide support toengineering throughout the product realization cycle. Interface withcustomers for supporting information when required for development ofsample, first article or full production processes. Enter pricinginformation from quotes into ERP software and verify invoicing accuracy.Address customer invoicing concerns and provide corrections/adjustmentsto invoicing errors. Provide engineering design support and interfacewith customers for supporting information when required for developmentof R&D, first article and production tooling/fixtures. Function in acustomer service role to manage due dates of quotes and feedback tocustomers on quotes. Write original content for website blog posts andsocial media outlets. Provide sales support to customer inquiriesregarding metal finishing process application and capabilities for newproducts, designs and applications. Meet with customers to discuss newprojects or metal finishing applications and develop processes andTesting Of Same. Qualifications And Education Requirements The Wellqualified candidate should have a BS in engineering, math, finance,accounting or business. The candidate should have advanced knowledge andmastery of MS Excel. No engineering or sales experience is required. ABackground In Accounting And Finance Would Be Preferred.
