Business System Analyst
Dave Wilson Nursery is seeking an ERP & Business Systems Analyst to support the modernization of our operational systems during a major ERP and business systems transformation. This role bridges business operations and technology, partnering with teams across production, inventory, sales, and administration to improve workflows, migrate data from legacy applications, and build reporting and automation tools using Microsoft technologies.The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and systems skills with a practical, hands-on approach to solving operational problems. Experience in modernizing legacy or highly customized business processes is highly valued. This is an opportunity to play a key role in transforming how data and systems support one of the country’s leading nursery operations.ResponsibilitiesERP & Business Process SupportServe as the day-to-day technical liaison between Admin, Accounting, Sales, Inventory, and Production teams and the ERP implementation teamGather and document business requirements; map current-state processes and help design future-state workflows in ERPConfigure ERP modules, screens, lists, and user roles in coordination with the Director of Business Operations and ERP consultantsBuild, validate, and load master and transactional data during cutover and ongoing operations, including:Items, varieties, and blocksCustomers, vendors, and pricingBills of materials and inventoryParticipate in test planning and execution (unit, integration, UAT, and parallel runs) and track issues to resolutionDevelop user training materials, quick-reference guides, and SOPs; train users on-site or in classroom settings, or coordinate outside trainers as neededProvide hyper-care support during and after go-live; triage tickets, document fixes, and escalate to vendors when appropriateMicrosoft Business Applications & Legacy ModernizationPartner with business users to document what our custom-built legacy applications do today — the workflows, business rules, data, and edge cases that have built up over the yearsHelp evaluate whether each legacy capability should be retired, absorbed into ERP, or rebuilt on the Microsoft stackWrite and maintain SQL against SQL Server and related databases to migrate, transform, and validate data moving off legacy systemsPlan and execute data migrations from legacy applications, including mapping, cleansing, cutover, and reconciliationCoordinate parallel runs and phased cutovers so the business is never left without a working toolData Migration & ReportingWrite and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures against ERP and related databases to support reporting and data validationDesign, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for admin, sales, inventory, and production usersPartner with department and division leaders to define meaningful, measurable metrics tied to source-of-truth systemsMonitor data quality, identify root causes of data issues, and work with process owners to correct them at the sourceProvide ad-hoc analytical support on inventory, production, sales, and operational questions as they ariseSystems IntegrationSupport integrations between ERP and adjacent systems, including:APIs and web servicesEDI connections with customers and vendorsLabel, barcode, and printing systemsHandhelds and other devices used in the yard and shippingPrepare detailed specifications from which integrations and reports can be built or modifiedCoordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to scope, test, and deploy integrationsRequirements5+ years of experience in a business systems analyst, ERP support, or business applications role, ideally in manufacturing, agriculture, distribution, or inventory-driven operationsTechnical & Systems ExperienceHands-on experience with the Microsoft business technology stack, including some combination of:Power Apps (canvas and/or model-driven)Power AutomatePower BIDataverse and/or SharePointMicrosoft 365 administration basicsProficiency writing SQL against SQL Server or comparable relational databasesExperience migrating users and data off custom-built or legacy applications onto modern platforms is strongly preferredFamiliarity with integration concepts and tools such as APIs and file-based interfacesAdvanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasetsExperience with ERP systems (Agriware, Business Central, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)Light scripting or development experience (PowerShell, C#, Python, or similar) is a plus.Benefits:401(k)Dental insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insurancePaid time offVision insurance
