Utility Associate - BSS
Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Utility Associate will perform custodial and waste (cardboard, plastic, trash) disposal within the facility.Position Responsibilities - EssentialClean and service restroomsSweep, vacuum, and mop floors and stairwaysDust such items as blinds, furniture, file cabinets, and windowsills using treated dust mittens, cloths, or hand-cleaning itemsScrub, strip, sanitize, wax, and buff floorsPolish furniture, metal work, and chrome using appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds.Maintain an inventory of cleaning and toiletry suppliesWash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using both step and extension laddersShampoo carpetsDetermine appropriate cleaning materials, supplies, tools, and equipment needed to accomplish jobBale scrap cardboard (Remove cardboard from transportation cart, bale cardboard, load bale into trailer using pallet jackCompact trash (remove trash from transportation cart, place down trash chute, operate compactor)Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activitiesBased on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position.Position Responsibilities - Non-Essential/OtherOther duties and special projects as assignedEssential Skills And ExperienceKnowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial serviceKnowledge of occupational hazards and safety rulesAbility to follow instructionsAbility to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, supplies, cleaning compounds, and solutionsExperience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety cultureAbility to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)Beneficial Skills And Experience Preferred one year or more of janitorial & waste management experienceCertified PIT (powered industrial truck) operatorKnowledge of occupational hazards, safety rules, and regulationsKnowledge of building and property security proceduresCompany DescriptionWe are a customer-focused, integrated maintenance company operating projects throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
