Company expertise includes Systems Engineering, Enterprise Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Management Services, and Software Support.InquisIT’s team is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to join us in Washington, DC.This is an on-site position.Position Summary:The Senior Linux Administrator will provide hands-on administration, maintenance, security, and engineering support for enterprise Linux environments. This role focuses on Red Hat Linux, automation, patching, system performance, security hardening, and maintaining highly available infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will also bring experience supporting web and application technologies such as Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, nginx, HAProxy, or similar platforms.Primary Job Responsibilities:Provide operations, maintenance, and engineering support for production, development, and test systemsConfigure, administer, and maintain documentation for Linux operating systemsMaintain availability and integrity of Linux infrastructure and IT systemsMaintain connectivity and functionality of systems and applications within the enterpriseIdentify technical requirements and make recommendations for future upgrade, optimization, consolidation, and decommissioning activitiesTroubleshoot, analyze, isolate, and resolve problems reported by IT support staff and end-usersTests, documents, communicates, and releases changes to the enterpriseMonitor, evaluate, and report system performance and security postureDesigning and implementing highly available systems and servicesImplement and maintain strict security baselines on all systems (DISA STIG, CIS Benchmark, NIST800.53)Experience and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience8-10 years of related technical experienceAbility to work on-siteExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience supporting physical and virtual servers, data backup/recovery, and patch managementExperience with RedHat Linux 8.x/9.x administration and automationExperience with Oracle WebLogic 7.xExperience supporting IBM middleware stack to include but not limited to WebSphere Application Server 9.x/Liberty (WebSphere containerization) and IBM Security Verify Access 10.xExperience integrating middleware components with Active Directory Lightweight Directory ServicesAdvanced understanding of Apache Tomcat 9.x, Apache Tomcat 10.x, Apache HTTP Server, nginx, haproxyExperience installing, configuring, and managing Open Text Documentum Document Management ServerAutomation and scripting experience (e.g., Ansible, Python, Bash)Experience managing a complex Linux enterprise environment with Red Hat SatelliteStrong working knowledge using tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, ElasticSearch, Splunk to monitor systems, metrics, and create actionable dashboardsExperience deploying and maintaining virtualized environments in Hyper-V, AWS, AzureExperience integrating Linux, NVIDIA GPU’s and AI-related technologies such as Ollama, LiteLLM, guardrails.Preferred Skills and Certifications:Red Hat Certified Engineer (Highly Preferred)Red Hat Certified ArchitectITILv3 Foundations___________________________________________________________________________________________InquisIT provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
