Janitor and Cleaner
Title: Janitor
Department: Production / Entree
Reports To: Shift Leads / Shift Supervisor / QC Manager
Shift: 3rd (typical but not guaranteed hours 9pm – 5am)
Wages: $15.00 – $19.00 Based on Experience
Basic Function: This position will perform a variety of sanitation and deep cleaning functions throughout the Production and Entrée Departments and may assist in general labor functions as operational needs require, possibly on different or extended shifts.

Specialized Knowledge and Experience:
0-1 years’ experience in an industrial food industry.
0-1 years’ experience in sanitation and cleaning.
Ability to read, write and understand the English language and have general skills to satisfactorily complete job requirements.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Ability to work well with all types of people including fellow employees and management.
Must pay attention to detail and be accurate and efficient in record keeping.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining a high level and USDA standards of cleanliness.
Responsible for the disassembly, scrubbing, washing, drying and re-assembly of various equipment on a routine basis. This includes removal, clean and re installation of pipes, cleaning of smoke stacks and ventilation hoods.
Similar duties apply to cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembly of previously disassembled equipment in all parts of the plant in addition to non-routine sanitation task.
Occasional operations of a fork lift or electric pallet jack.
Set up equipment for next day’s production run or requirements
Position requires the physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally.
Assist and learn to operate various types of equipment and machinery.
Learn line flow and production of many products of the Production and Entrée Department
Clean machinery and work areas as applicable.
Keep work areas clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as: GMP’s, food safety, product quality, food security, etc.
Adheres to all common safety practices and rules; including the wearing of protective equipment as require and Lock out Tag out procedures.
Be familiar with the proper use of chemicals for cleaning, how to check the PH of chemicals and proper storage of all chemicals.
Perform Daily, Weekly and Monthly master sanitation cleaning as directed by a set scheduled and Shift Supervisor ensuring the plant is always audit ready.
Remove trash and debris from the production and entrée room disposing of properly.
Adheres to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
Performs other duties as assigned by leads and supervisor.
