QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in education and/or related fieldValid educational licenseAppropriate endorsement and/training for assigned course(s)SUPERVISES: N/AREPORTS TO: Supervising Building AdministratorJOB GOAL: Improve instruction by providing assistance to teachers in developing effective teaching strategies for all students.TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, including, but are not limited to:Provides quality work that engages students in learningPossesses knowledge of subject matter contentRecognizes and responds appropriately to individual differences in studentsDifferentiates instruction for a variety of developmental stages and ability levelsImplements adopted curriculum subject matter standards and assessment instruments to meet school and district goalsPlans lessons in a logical sequenceDemonstrates knowledge of the subjects to be taught and the relationship to other subjectsReflects on teaching and devising ways of improving performance on an ongoing basisCollaborates with other educators to create the most complete educational environment possible for studentsUses a variety of assessment techniques and/or models to evaluate student performanceUses formative assessment to improve instructionAssumes responsibility for all students to ensure adequate yearly progress as determined by local, state, and federal standardsParticipates in the referral-to-placement process for students being referred for Child StudyUtilizes technology in the teaching and learning processProvides a physical environment that is safe, orderly, hazard-free, and conducive to learningImplements approved disciplinary measures to allow for effective instruction and classroom managementRelates to parents and other community members, individual and corporate, in a positive and helpful fashionWrites, speaks, and presents instruction in a clear, concise, and well-planned mannerparticipates in self-initiated and school/district-initiated professional growth in order to maintain licensure and support school improvement effortsAdheres to policies and procedures established by district, state, and federal guidelinesSubmits required reports efficiently, promptly, and accuratelyInventories classroom materials, textbooks, and equipmentAccepts the responsibilities of co-curricular and extra-curricular duties as assigned by administrationParticipates in departmental/grade-level teams, school-level teams, and district-level committees as requestedAttends school-related functions (e.g. PTA) outside the instructional dayDemonstrates prompt and regular attendanceSupports the West Bolivar Consolidated School District Mission, Vision, and Strategic PlanPerform other duties assigned by supervisorTERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of TrusteesEVALUATION: Annually
