Project Estimator

Position Summary The Project Estimator will collect and analyze information to estimate costs and services for assigned departments and projects. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership to the team that is in alignment with company vision, mission, and values.Estimates the cost of new and proposed projects and services including labor, equipment, materials, and other general conditions.Creates and maintain budgets and tracks changes throughout the project.Analyzes the feasibility of potential projects and any modifications to the projects and services provided.Develops and maintains vendor and trade working relationships.Collaborates with other departments to produce detailed reports, including the itemization of project costs and forecasts of outstanding expenses.Documents data and statistical procedures used in conducting cost analysis.Determines standard costs to assist in preparing the annual budget.Assists with purchasing materials and attaining purchasing leverage.Provides general guidance to employees regarding project details. Qualifications and SkillsBachelor’s degree in related discipline required.At least 5 years’ experience required; 8 or more years’ experience preferred.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and estimating software.Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.Strong written and oral communication skills.Demonstrable analytical thinking skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Work Environment and Physical RequirementsWorks indoors in a temperature-controlled environment, with low noise levels.Prolonged periods of sitting required.Rarely required to lift, pull, and push objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
