Our teams operate at the intersection of engineering, GIS, data, and program management to drive measurable, field-impacting results.Position OverviewThe Quality Engineer is a multi-functional role supporting utility programs through corrective action execution, project initiation, and process transformation efforts.This role plays a critical part in ensuring that findings from Cause Evaluations (CE) and Corrective Action Programs (CAP) are effectively resolved, while also supporting upstream project intake (Initiating & Designing) and broader process and controls re-architecture initiatives.The ideal candidate brings a strong program execution mindset, the ability to translate analysis into action, and the discipline to manage multiple workstreams in a structured, compliance-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCorrective Action & Program Execution (CE / CAP)Execute corrective and preventative actions resulting from Cause Evaluations (CE) and CAP programsManage and reduce backlog of corrective actions, driving toward full completion and compliance targetsCoordinate with process owners, SMEs, and program leadership to ensure timely resolution of findingsTranslate root cause findings into actionable, implemented solutionsTrack status, risks, and dependencies across all corrective action effortsEnsure full compliance with program procedures, audit expectations, and documentation standardsInitiating & Designing (I&D) SupportSupport intake and evaluation of new project requests across program workstreamsDefine clear problem statements, scope, assumptions, and high-level solution approachesAssist in development of project frameworks, engagement models, and delivery plansCoordinate with leadership to prioritize initiatives and reduce bottlenecksSupport development of templates, intake processes, and standardized approaches to project initiationEnsure new initiatives are structured for efficient execution and measurable outcomesProcess & Controls Re-ArchitectureAnalyze and evaluate existing processes, procedures, and documentation across utility programsSupport redesign of process architecture, including development of future-state workflowsCreate process maps, SOPs, RACIs, and supporting documentationIdentify inefficiencies, redundancies, and gaps in current processesContribute to development of standardized, scalable process frameworks (“gold standard”)Improve accessibility, usability, and consistency of documentation across teamsQuality, Risk & Continuous ImprovementSupport root cause analysis efforts and risk mitigation strategiesEnsure alignment between corrective actions and long-term process improvementsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with PDCA principlesIdentify trends in defects, findings, and process breakdowns to inform systemic improvementsCoordination, Reporting & GovernanceMaintain detailed tracking of actions, deliverables, and program metricsProvide regular updates through structured reporting cadences (e.g., weekly, monthly reviews)Support governance processes, including documentation, approvals, and audit readinessCollaborate across GIS, data, engineering, and program teams to ensure alignmentRequired QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering, GIS, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience3–7 years of experience in quality engineering, program support, operations, or consultingExperience working in regulated environments or utility programs preferredSkills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologiesProven ability to drive execution and close out actions in structured programsExcellent coordination and follow-through across multiple stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with process mapping, documentation, and workflow designEffective written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentationHigh level of organization, attention to detail, and administrative rigorWork EnvironmentPrimarily remote with occasional travel for stakeholder meetingsHybrid cadence for key workshops and program milestonesThe salary range for this position is provided in good faith and is subject to variation based on geographic location, candidate experience, and market conditions.
