Experienced Optician/Sales Associate

We're a busy optometry practice with five offices in the Greater Portland area that is seeking an experienced full time optician. Our employees contribute directly to the growth and success of our practice and take pride in being a member of our team.ABO (American Board of Opticianry) certification is a plus but not required.*Essential Job Functions* Ensures the overall smooth operation of the provision eyewear services and materials from the optical needs assessment through sales and dispensing. Advises and educates patients/customers in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle needs, and style preferences. Takes precision measurements and provides proper fitting, adjustments, and repairs of eyewear. Instructs patients on proper use and care of eyewear. Places accurate orders for eyewear from the laboratory, tracks order, and verifies order are within ANSI standards. Acts as resource to staff and doctors regarding optical patient care/customer service issues. Accurately and effectively manages record keeping and filing. Monitors and maintains display area, eyeglass inventory, and supplies. Effectively operates, maintains, and calibrates equipment. Stays up to date on knowledge of changes in technology and equipment. Keeps effective relationships with approved vendors. Maintains excellent rapport with patients/customers, staff, other offices, management, and doctors. Ensures a high level of patient/customer service by prompt response, effective troubleshooting, and resolution of inquiries and complaints.
