Position Overview: The ATRC Program Specialist plays a crucial role in the Assistive Technology Regional Center (ATRC) program by overseeing our lending library's operations and ensuring access to a wide range of assistive technologies. Well-qualified applicants will understand assistive technologies and their role in accessibility, have excellent organizational and program administration skills, and a passion for enhancing accessibility. The ATRC Program Specialist works closely with the ATRC Manager to plan, schedule, and perform all operational activities of the Assistive Technology Regional Center (ATRC). Various daily functions of the role are performed in and out of the Center using a wide variety of assistive technologies. Essential Functions: Assistive Technology Organize, prepare, and distribute adaptive equipment devices to be borrowed from the ATRC. Ensure all equipment is properly labeled, maintained, and sanitized between uses. Demonstrate features and/or operation of adaptive equipment being loaned. Assist consumers in selecting appropriate assistive technology devices based on their needs and preferences. Maintains assistive technology devices in the center by updating computers with appropriate hardware, software, and adaptive devices. Collaborate with other AT & ESMA staff members and community members to provide comprehensive support services. ATRC Administration & Operations Maintain accurate records of inventory, borrowers, and loans using database software. Develop promotional materials and outreach strategies to increase awareness of the lending library’s services. Manage administrative operations including records maintenance; delivery of oral and written communications/instructions; delivery of information in alternate formats. Establish and maintain process documentation files, records, and/or other documents. Manage contract authorizations in accordance with established timelines and defined terms. Travel outside the office for regular ATRC community demonstrations (must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various community locations throughout MA Facilitate guided tours of ATRC to community members. Identify and attend public outreach/awareness events as appropriate or as availability permits. Present at conferences, health fairs, and professional development events. Follow state and federal guidelines set by MassMATCH and AT3 (tech act program). Support client goals with the use of AT within the parameters of the program set by MassMatch and AT3. Other Functions: Maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population. Actively participate in the ongoing development and day to day operations of ATRC programs Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements relative to assistive technology/disability services Greet consumers, family members and professionals at the ATRC. Performs any other duties and/or tasks assigned as needed. Prepares photocopies and facsimiles, and operates a variety of office equipment Resolves routine administrative problems Qualifications: Two years related experience or college degree in any of the following: OT, OTA, PT, PTA, SLP, SLP Assistant or Education. Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills, with keen attention to detail. Effective communication verbally, in writing, and in alternative formats as needed. Working knowledge of assistive technology preferred. Previous work with persons with disabilities preferred. Valid driver's license, and the ability to travel to various community locations throughout MA. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
