Material Handler - Mesa, ArizonaThe Receiving Material Handler is responsible for receiving, inspecting, identifying, labeling, and storing all incoming materials, equipment, and supplies. This position ensures incoming shipments are accurate, properly documented, and available to support fabrication and field construction activities while maintaining warehouse organization and inventory accuracy.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesReceiving OperationsReceive all incoming deliveries.Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.Inspect materials for shortages, damage, or discrepancies.Report receiving discrepancies to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.Label and identify all incoming materials.Maintain receiving documentation.Inventory ManagementStore materials in designated warehouse locations.Update inventory locations as directed.Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.Maintain accurate material identification.Organize warehouse storage areas.Material HandlingSafely unload trucks using forklifts and material handling equipment.Move materials to storage or staging locations.Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.Maintain receiving equipment and work areas.Warehouse SupportSupport warehouse organization and housekeeping.Assist fabrication and warehouse personnel with material movement.Assist with warehouse projects as assigned.Support emergency material requests.SafetyFollow all company safety policies.Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely.Wear required PPE.Maintain a clean and safe receiving area.Report unsafe conditions immediately.QualificationsWarehousemen experience required.Some college preferred; HS/GED required.Excellent customer service skills.Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel.Good driving record.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Provide innovative thinking to improve processes.Problem solving.Collaborate with others and work effectively in a team environment.Strong organizational skills.Demonstrated commitment to employee safety.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Material Handler to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time (8 hours or more); bend/stoop, kneel/crouch; lift move or push up to 50 lbs; good manual dexterity (use/management of tools); ability to climb using a ladder.
