Summary of Functions:Under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Head Landscaper or the Assistant Landscaper, the Landscaper I participates in the installation and maintenance of ornamental plants, shrubs, and trees in the planting areas of the clubhouse grounds, parking lot and golf course landscape beds, assists in the maintenance of ornamental (non-golf) lawn areas around the clubhouse and parking lot areas, participates in the maintenance of hard surfaces of the parking lot, clubhouse and practice areas, and operates equipment associated with the maintenance of ornamental plants.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesParticipates in the daily maintenance of ornamental plants, shrubs and trees in the planting areas of the clubhouse grounds, parking lot and golf course landscape beds.Participates in the maintenance of the parking lot and associated hard and turf surfaces around the clubhouse.Prepares planting beds, establishes by seed and transplants and maintains annual and perennial flowers in aesthetically pleasing arrangements.Installs and maintains ornamental shrubs and trees to include appropriate pruning, fertilizing, watering, weeding and pest control.Landscape maintenance tasks to include; weeding edging, trimming, mowing, blowing, hoeing, raking, watering, sweeping, planting, and digging.Operates mechanical and power equipment used in the maintenance of ornamental plants and trees, parking lots, clubhouse and practice are hard surfaces, and ornamental (non-golf) lawn areas.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.EducationHigh school diploma and GED.Experience1-2 years of landscaping experience.Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work.Ability to operate light motorized and power equipment.Ability to follow oral and written directions.Other RequirementsPossession of a valid driver's license.Ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribal Work Permit.Available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. The worker is exposed to working in extreme weather extremes including; cool and wet, and hot and dry conditions. The worker is frequently exposed to working on wet grass which can be slippery to walk or drive on. The worker is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicle emissions, mechanical noises, and airborne particles.
