Heavy Equipment /Truck Mechanic

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00AM to 4:00PM at the shop located in York PA but could require a Saturday or Sunday depending upon equipment needs. The position would require travel to jobsites within a 4 - 6 hour radius from the shop, not every day, to perform services / repairs as required.**Basic Job Functions** Inspecting heavy construction equipment, attachments, heavy trucks, and trailers for proper performance, and to detect faults and malfunctions Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools Overhauling major components like engines and transmissions, and using diagnostic tools Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment State Inspection of vehicles / trailers Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatic and electrical systems Travel to jobsites to perform services / repairs as required Accurate record-keeping of all work performed.
