Embedded Software Engineer

Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer Location: Sunnyvale, CA or Redmond, WA Work Mode: 100% Onsite Experience: 10+ Years Role Type: ContractKey Requirements:10+ years of experience in SoC validation, with strong hands-on experience leading PnP, hardware/software testing, and debugging.Expertise in Power & Performance characterization of SoCs using both Pre-Si and Post-Si tooling.Hands-on experience with Synopsys PrimeTime Power Analysis for Pre-Si and National Instruments Data Acquisition (NI-DAQ) for Post-Si validation.Strong C/C++ embedded software development experience across Bare Metal, RTOS, and Linux environments.Solid understanding of ARM CPU, AMBA SoC architecture, boot flows, CPU/SoC initialization, and silicon bring-up.Experience with board-level debug and low-power SoC validation.Familiarity with MIPI, PCIe, USB, I2C, SPMI, UART, and GPIO protocols.Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and multithreaded programming.Scripting experience with Python and Bash.Key Responsibilities:Correlate power estimations and silicon measurements against architectural specifications and drive HW/SW optimizations to achieve power targets.Lead failure analysis and debugging with Software/Firmware, System Hardware, and Silicon teams.Collaborate with cross-functional teams across OS kernel/driver, silicon validation, SoC IP integration, FPGA prototyping, emulation, system integration, and board debug.Develop comprehensive validation test plans and collaborate with architecture, design, and software teams to ensure feature coverage.Develop low-level RTOS drivers to configure and validate subsystems such as camera, display, video codecs, PCIe, USB, and ML accelerators.Bring up Pre-Si prototypes and validate functional and PnP features using Bare Metal/RTOS workloads.Debug and bring up low-power SoCs and lead system hardware validation.Isolate failures from system $B"*(J subsystem $B"*(J block level using RTL waveforms, Lauterbach, transaction-level models, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other lab/debug tools.Ideal candidates will have strong hands-on experience in SoC validation, silicon bring-up, embedded software, power/performance characterization, and HW/SW debugging.
