Help Build a Memorial Space for the Pets That Changed Everything
Legacy Paws Rescue is run entirely by one person. One veteran, one five-acre sanctuary, and an unwillingness to leave any dog behind. The dogs who come to us arrive with stories. Some were abandoned on roadsides. Some came from neglect. Some spent years in conditions that left marks that take time and patience to undo. We take them all in, figure out who they are, and fight for them until they are safe and in the right home.It is working. But one person cannot do it alone forever. We need skilled volunteers who are willing to show up for a rescue that has already proven it will not stop — and help us build the foundation that keeps it going.📧 LegacyPawsRescue@gmail.com🌐 legacypawsrescue.orgEIN 33-2211382,Legacy Paws Rescue is a veteran-owned 501(c)(3) dog rescue and sanctuary on five acres in Catawba, North Carolina. Our property is home to Rainbow Bridge Island — a dedicated memorial space where families come to grieve the animals they have loved and lost. We need a coordinator to help us build this program from vision into something real and lasting. Responsibilities include helping design the physical memorial space on the property, developing the submission and tribute process for families, creating the program structure and materials, and establishing a simple ongoing maintenance plan after launch. This role sits at the intersection of creativity, compassion, and organization. The work is emotionally meaningful and requires someone comfortable holding space for grief while also managing the practical details of building something new. Most work can be done remotely with occasional visits to the sanctuary in Catawba, NC welcome but not required.
