We have an exciting opportunity for you!This Entry-Level Geological role is responsible for supporting the identification, evaluation, and extraction of ore reserves across exploration and production activities. Working as part of a collaborative team, this role contributes to geological programs that support both near-mine and in-mine operations, helping drive safe, efficient, and economically sound mining practices.In this position, you will work as part of a technical team to perform geological activities related to exploration, resource definition, grade control, and production support for a project or operating mine. We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.Responsibilities:Follow the organization's HS&E policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of oneself and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriateCollect geological data through mapping, sampling, logging of RC and core drilling, and other field activities under limited supervisionAssist with grade control, exploration, resource definition, or production geology programs as assignedSupport drilling programs by assisting with planning, field supervision, sampling, and data collectionCompile, enter, and validate geological, sampling, and drilling data using established procedures and databasesPerform basic QA/QC checks on geological, sampling, and assay data under guidanceUse geological software and databases to enter, review, and retrieve data, including drillhole data entry and model interrogationAssist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to geology, drilling, production, or exploration activitiesSupport reconciliation and data review activities by compiling and organizing required informationProvide geological information to engineering, operations, and other departments as directedResolve routine technical questions by following established procedures and referring more complex issues to senior staffAssist with small projects or assigned tasks related to drilling, mapping, data management, or technical studiesWork effectively as part of a team and maintain clear communication with supervisors and coworkersMaintain accurate field notes, records, and databases in accordance with company standardsDevelop technical skills through on-the-job training, mentoring, and formal training programsMaintain awareness of relevant technology, industry practices, and regulatory requirementsQualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Earth Science, Geological Engineering, or a related fieldExperience in mining, exploration, geology, or related technical field workBasic knowledge of drilling, logging, sampling, and assaying methodsExposure to geological databases and mining or modeling software such as Deswik, Vulcan, Leapfrog, acQuire, or similar is preferredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices in field or industrial work environmentsAbility to follow established procedures and work effectively under supervision while developing technical skillsWhat We Can Offer YouA comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution AND employer match, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.Endless opportunities to grow and learn with industry colleagues.Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization.Nevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.Thank you for your application, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
