Digital Producer
Job DescriptionWMUR, the ABC affiliate in Manchester is looking for a well-rounded full-time Digital Content Producer who will create content for its website, mobile products and social media platforms. You must be an excellent storyteller who can edit and create content facing intense competition under constant deadline pressure. Breaking news and weather are huge in our area, and our digital producer must know how to maximize it all, while accomplishing their daily responsibilities. You will report to the Digital Content Manager.ResponsibilitiesWrite/edit and publish breaking news and weather, daily news, sports and feature stories for our station website, and other social media platformsWrite compelling headlines; especially for mobile and social media and carefully create mobile push notifications for breaking news/severe weatherWork with Reporters and Assignment Editors to ensure content is posted accurately and fastWork with Producers, Assignment Editors and Managers to ensure cross promotion of content across all platformsDevelop multimedia special projectsManage LIVE streams of newscasts and breaking newsContribute ideas to help grow our station's digital platformsRequirements1-3 years of experience in a professional television newsroom or web-publishing environmentCompelling news and editorial judgmentExcellent AP writing skillsBasic knowledge of video editingExperience with social media best practicesFlexibility to work different shifts (including nights and weekends), holidays on short notice to cover a 24-hour news cycleWork well in an environment with frequent interruptionsProficiency in PhotoshopRelated military experience will be consideredValues in ActionAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
