Job Summary Perform field audits and observations to gather information while consulting and advising the department on health and safety issues. Conduct investigations of accidents, injuries, tools, equipment, work methods or other issues. Job Responsibilities Assist in the development and implementation of procedures, policies, and programs relating to safety Act as a professional resource for all levels of employees while providing an expert perspective on safety Audit safety performance through observation and inquiry. Identify improvement opportunities and inform facility management of issues and solutions Deliver safety training programs and materials Conduct industrial hygiene exposure monitoring for various physical, biological and chemical agents to determine employee exposures Pursue personal development of technical expertise in a broad range of subject matter relative to safety Establish and maintain good working relationships with facility employees and department leaders Serve on local safety committees while offering expert perspective on safety issues Support diversity by actively seeking out and encouraging diversity in perspective and by establishing an environment of inclusion Minimum Qualifications Associate Safety Consultant Bachelors degree in safety, industrial hygiene or related discipline. The Associate level is an entry level position for which safety or utility experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. In order to be hired into or progress to the Consultant/Sr Consultant levels in the job family, a candidate must have a bachelor's degree. Safety Consultant Bachelors degree in safety, industrial hygiene or related discipline. 3-5 years of safety or related experience required; utility experience desired. Senior Safety Consultant Bachelors degree in safety, industrial hygiene or related discipline. 7-10 years of safety or related experience required; utility experience desired. End Date: 03/30/2026 Pay Range Minimum: $68,436.68 Pay Range Maximum: $147,074.72 The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
