Traveling Safety Manager
A leading commercial general contractor is seeking a Traveling Safety Manager to support projects across Texas. This individual will play a critical role in promoting and maintaining a proactive, safety-first culture on active job sites while partnering closely with project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure safe project execution from preconstruction through completion.The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build relationships in the field while driving accountability and continuous improvement across all aspects of project safety.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote and reinforce a proactive, project-wide safety culture across assigned jobsites.Partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safe work plans, and project-specific safety initiatives.Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions or behaviors, providing corrective action recommendations.Implement and oversee site-specific safety programs, emergency response procedures, and risk mitigation efforts.Lead orientation and ongoing safety training for project staff, subcontractors, and onsite personnel.Ensure projects are properly mobilized with required labor law postings, safety signage, and compliance documentation.Prepare and submit safety inspection reports and maintain accurate project safety records.Investigate incidents involving injuries, property damage, near misses, or safety violations, documenting findings and supporting root cause analysis.Accompany OSHA representatives, insurance inspectors, and other compliance personnel during audits and site visits.Evaluate subcontractor safety programs, qualifications, and compliance performance.Assist with project safety budgeting and monitor overall safety performance metrics.Collaborate with regional and corporate safety leadership to support company-wide safety initiatives and best practices.Participate in preconstruction meetings and provide safety input during project planning and execution phases.Travel regularly to support active projects and maintain consistency in safety standards across multiple jobsites.Qualifications1–3 years of construction safety experience with a commercial general contractor or related construction environment.Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and field safety practices.Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, and project leadership teams.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and jobsite responsibilities.Experience conducting site inspections, incident investigations, and safety training sessions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety reporting/documentation tools preferred.OSHA 30 certification preferred.Willingness and ability to travel extensively based on project needs.What’s OfferedCompetitive compensation and benefits packageStructured career growth and continuing education opportunitiesCollaborative, team-oriented cultureOpportunity to work on high-profile commercial construction projects across multiple marketsStrong commitment to safety, operational excellence, and employee development
