AWS Cloud Engineer

AWS Cloud Engineer*6-month contract then full-time conversion*Fully RemoteWe are seeking a hands-on AWS Cloud Engineer to support the development, administration, and ongoing improvement of AWS cloud environments. This role will contribute to building AWS capabilities, establishing cloud tooling and governance practices, and developing repeatable processes aligned with existing Azure standards.The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a collaborative team and can operate independently while partnering closely with other technical teams and stakeholders. Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills are essential.Job Must HavesStrong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.Experience building, configuring, and supporting AWS environments.Understanding of cloud governance, security, and operational best practices.Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.Proficiency with GitHub Enterprise Cloud, including repositories, workflows, and enterprise development practices.Experience working across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.Ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team and manage priorities independently.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to think independently, troubleshoot complex problems, and develop practical solutions.Job Nice to HavesExperience with Amazon Connect.Experience working across multiple cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, configure, and support AWS cloud infrastructure and services.Help establish and improve AWS tooling, processes, and governance standards.Develop reusable cloud capabilities and operational processes that align with existing Azure practices.Use Terraform to automate and standardize infrastructure deployments.Collaborate with team members to share AWS knowledge and help expand cloud capabilities across the organization.Support the implementation of secure, scalable, and maintainable AWS solutions.Contribute to software development and deployment processes throughout the SDLC.Identify opportunities to improve cloud operations, automation, and engineering efficiency.
