Manufacturing Operator I - Third Shift

About the role The Manufacturing Operator is accountable for executing the lowest level of manufacturing operating steps on batches of products utilizing the proper equipment and following instructions defined in applicable safety policies, procedures, and Batch Production Records in either electronic or paper format Role Responsibilities Apply safety policies and GMP knowledge in daily operations involving self and other team members (i.e., LOTO {Lock-Out/Tag-Out}, Personal Protective Equipment {PPE} utilization, housekeeping, gowning, and good documentation practices). Perform cleaning process in the manufacturing rooms, washroom, equipment and general area as per respective SOPs. Maintain process equipment and clothing as per established SOPs. Assure that all components and equipment are ready for manufacturing when needed. Setting up, loading & unloading, cleaning and operating equipment such as blenders, compressing machines, and coaters following weekly manufacturing schedule and related SOPs. Transfer materials between work centers as needed. Operate analog and digital controls and instruments on the manufacturing equipment. Know and follow instructions on Manufacturing and Production Records (paper or electronic): Monitor operating parameters and physical attributes of product/process during each respective manufacturing step. Address process deviations immediately and participate in troubleshooting with other team members. Manufacturing processes and operations: Weighing, Granulation, Blending, Compression, Coating, Branding and Encapsulation. Participate actively in process improvement projects. Minor maintenance of equipment and instruments Preventive Maintenance (PM): Assist in routine preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and provide support to basic troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and instruments. Prepare/produce manufacturing operation steps on batches of products utilizing the proper equipment Monitor, maintain and adjust process parameters during the manufacturing stage. Operate several manufacturing processes simultaneously and adapt to various changes in daily job assignments. Check all equipment for proper setup, cleanliness, lubrication, and general working conditions prior to use. Approve clean-up and ready for setup. Maintain production records. Perform required in-process testing; obtain required in-process sampling and record data on batch records. Perform formulation control checks. Check identities of all materials to ensure batches are processed properly. Check material and in-process weights, as required. Recognize abnormal situations during compounding, compressing or encapsulation operations and report them immediately to the Supervisor. Rotate through all areas within the Business Unit. Adjust equipment to minimize product loss, maximize output and assure product quality. Work in a manner that will promote good housekeeping, safety, and quality production. Comply with all operating procedures and GMP requirements. Recognize and solve problems associated with granulation, extrusion, or coating equipment. Make judgment in certain processes to produce finished dosage form/granulation mass formulation within specified parameters. Attend training to handle hazardous waste collection and disposal. Handle hazardous waste generated in his/her work area. Types of decisions made by a level I Manufacturing Operator are: machine adjustments as needed and prioritize the order of work tasks to meet schedule attainment. Most of decisions are referred primarily to the Team Leader or other appropriate management personnel. Why you? Basic Qualifications: HS diploma with 3yrs experience as Manufacturing Operator; or Associate’s Degree with 2yrs experience as Operator, as well as knowledge of computer programs and math; or Bachelor’s Degree with no experience; full knowledge of manufacturing equipment technology.
