Electrical Engineer - Charlotte, NC | HybridAn established multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its growing team in Charlotte, NC. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial and institutional projects alongside architects, engineers, and design professionals in a collaborative environment.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical system design for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems.Key Responsibilities:• Lead electrical system design for commercial and institutional projects• Prepare calculations, specifications, layouts, and construction documents• Support feasibility studies, facility evaluations, and cost estimating• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams• Conduct site visits and assist during construction administration phases• Ensure designs comply with NEC, IBC, IECC, and related codes/standards• Maintain accurate project documentation and schedules• Mentor junior engineering staff when requiredRequirements:• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program• 7-12+ years of electrical engineering design experience• Experience working on commercial, healthcare, education, civic, or institutional building projects• Strong knowledge of NEC and related building codes• Experience with power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems• Strong communication and project coordination skills• Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environmentPreferred Qualifications:• FE or PE certification• Autodesk Revit (BIM) experience• Experience with Bluebeam, ELUMtools, and/or VISUAL• Previous experience within an MEP or A/E consulting environmentThis is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering team offering long-term career growth, strong project exposure, and a collaborative culture.
