Railroad Permitting Specialist

Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, environmental consultants, GIS mapping specialists, and real estate coordinators to prepare permit applications for railroad permitting to facilitate construction impacts related to transmission line and substation expansion projectsComplete and submit permit applications, and pursue application through timeframe until permit is issued or authorizedObtain permitting authorizations for all crossings related to linear transmission line projects, including but not limited to: railroad crossings and turnpike crossingsObtain entry and access permitsSupport environmental permitting tasks if requestedSupport fiber and communication permitting tasks if requestedInteract with construction contractors for electrical transmission lines, fiber, road building, foundations, geotechnical, survey, and restoration with respect to permitting needs and understand railroad permitting complianceSupport Client needs as directedAssist with document researchProvide assistance to client on electrical distribution projects Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program and min 4 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analyzing environmental data for various environmental impact projects Required orMaster Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program and min 3 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analyzing environmental data for various environmental impact projects is Required.Good verbal and written communication skillsCapable of working with diverse skill sets in fast paced environmentStrong analytical and problem solving skillsTeam player focused on Client serviceExcellent Time Management SkillsWell-organized and able to simultaneously pursue and track multiple project permitting effortsCandidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.ESPO Corporation630-789-2525View all open jobs atLeaders in Technical Recruiting & Staffing since 1965ESPO has a comprehensive benefits package which includes PTO, Group Health and Dental Insurance, and 401k after you have satisfied the necessary waiting periods.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value the benefits of diversity in our workforce.
