PorterRound Rock, TXPosition Summary:Responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Vacuums and buffs floors, empties trash receptacles, and replace lining of trash cans and other related assigned duties under the direction of supervisor.Essential Functions (but not limited to):Sweep and mop floorsClean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfacesClean and disinfect equipmentMonitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not createdUse cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfacesMix various cleaning agentsClean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegeesDust furniture and scrub surfaces cleanApply wax to coat floors and buffClean and service kitchen and break areas and restrooms with mops and disinfectantsIdentify and report possible repairsFix minor plumbing leaksRequisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance dutiesMove heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucksNotify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job ordersHandle emergency cleaning and upkeep requestsCart delivery as directedAssist truck drivers on route as a helper on an "as needed" basisEducation/Experience Requirements:2+ years janitorial experienceHigh school diploma/GED requiredWillingness to work early morning or late night shiftsAbility to work well under minimal supervisionStrong background in handling, mixing and using cleaning chemicals in a safe mannerCapacity to take directionStrong attention to detailPhysically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessarySupervisory Responsibility:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Physical Requirements:WalkingBendingClimbingCrouchingDrivingSittingTwistingVisually inspecting around and under truck and its componentsAble to lift at least seventy-five (75) pounds as needed dailyStamina and flexibility to maintain a steady work paceReachingPushing/pullingGripping/grasping controlsAble to effectively communicate with dispatch/supervisorsExpected hours of work:Days and hours of work are normally Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm but are subject to change at the discretion of management.Work Authorization/Security ClearanceMust meet the Department of Homeland Security employment eligibility verification requirements.AAP/EEO StatementQualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability, or other protected characteristic.Other DutiesThe statements herein are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by this position, and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills.
