Job Description Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPlease read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.Professionally represent our client and effectively support Company strategic initiativesEstablish and foster positive long-term relationships with internal customers and business partnersExecute company policies and proceduresEmbraces a lean culture and work environmentCultivate new and existing businessrelationships by engaging in clientpursuits,RFP's, and interviews; positively promote Company to external business partners and contactsEstablish and foster positive long-term relationships with all business partners including owners, architects, engineers and subcontractorsCultivate and manage relationships with new and existing clients; Provide client with accurate estimates and value engineeringAssume single responsibility for large, complex projects; assume overall responsibility for thepreconstruction stage of each projectIdentify tasks to be accomplished in order to satisfy contractual requirementsEnsures estimates, schedules, constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, cost report planning and purchase planning efforts and documents meet detail, schedule and quality requirements.Provide overall Preconstruction effort oversight and show ability to lead a project team and project solutionsManage estimating process through initial advertising/prequalification and solicitation of subcontractors, bid evaluation process and awardEffectively schedule complete Preconstruction effort including all estimate milestones, durations and identifying long lead items and other needsInterfaces with Owner, Architect/Engineers and subcontractors to resolve technical matters during design or prebid, and provides engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.Organize departmental team so that each estimator involved knows responsibilities and deadlinesMentor/teach junior estimators all aspects of preconstruction processPrepare estimates for all stages of design from Conceptual through Final Construction Documents (Design/Build, Guaranteed Maximum Price, and Hard Bid diversity)Perform value engineering and life-cycle costingDevelop and write all bid packages and subcontractor scopes of workParticipate with the Project Manager in award of subcontracts and write all subcontracts before turning over to construction teamDemonstrate exceptional presentation and sales skills while serving on RFP/Interview teamsOther duties as assignedUses safety equipment as prescribed by company to ensure safety on jobsiteAs a safety sensitive position, complete adherence to alcohol and drug use policies set by companyIn-person, predictable attendance at assigned locationEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent fieldMinimum of three (3) to five (5) years of Construction Management/General Contractor experienceVerifiable work references demonstrating exceptional accomplishments, leadership and communication skillSKILLSSolid computer skills; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, ExcelProficient in use of estimating softwareAble to read drawings and specificationsStrong understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standardsKnowledge of construction costs, project budgeting, vendor selection, client proposals and owner/architect/general contractor industry expertise. xaygatp Strong customer service orientationStrong organizational, multi-tasking and planning skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTSVerifiable work references demonstrating exceptional accomplishments, leadership, and communication skillsSuccessful completion of post-offer background & drug screensHealth and welfare benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, ADD, STD, LTD,and EAP substantially supported by the employer.Retirement benefits: Employee Stock Ownership Program - funded by the company for all full-time overhead employees; optional 401(k) to boost savingsOther benefits and compensation include annual bonus potential, employee events and activities, discounted benefit programs (i.e. LegalShield, pet insurance, Botanic Garden memberships, etc. which may vary over time)Employment Type: Full time Location: Colorado Springs, CO
